Hike&Tapas: sunset above the Alhambra

Join us for a beautiful circular hike through some of Granada’s most fascinating natural and historical landscapes! We’ll follow parts of the ancient Acequia Real de la Alhambra, walk through the peaceful Dehesa del Generalife, cross Llano de la Perdiz, enjoy panoramic views from Cerro del Sol, and discover the area of the old Roman gold mines. In the heart of spring, the route is especially beautiful, with flowers blooming and the hills full of fresh colour. And the real highlight comes on the way back: as the afternoon light softens, we’ll enjoy spectacular sunset views over the Alhambra and Granada. Without a doubt the biggest treasure of this hike.

Why you’ll love this hike
This route combines nature, history, and some of the most special surroundings of Granada. We’ll pass through areas linked to the Alhambra’s historic water system, enjoy forest paths and open views, and explore the landscapes around Cerro del Sol and the old mining area. It’s a great option if you want a scenic afternoon hike with a social atmosphere, especially with the beautiful return at sunset.

Optional after the hike 🍷🍽️
If anyone feels like it after the hike, we can walk down to Plaza Nueva and continue with some tapas together. It’s totally optional, but a great chance to relax, chat, and end the day nicely.

Tips for a great hike
🥾 Shoes: Hiking shoes or trainers with good grip
💧 Hydration: Bring enough water, especially as it will be an afternoon hike
🧢 Sun protection: Hat, sunglasses, and sunscreen recommended
