August 3, 2025 - Sesnon Blvd, Granada Hills Moderate Hike San Fernando Valley

Details

Lately, we've been experiencing about a 50% no-show rate for our hikes. We kindly ask that if you RSVP, please make every effort to attend—or at the very least, let us know in advance if you can’t make it. Your consideration really helps us keep things running smoothly for the whole group.

My organizers and I will be leading a hike/walk starting at Sesnon Street in the Granada Hills area (San Fernando Valley). This out and back hike is approximately 4 miles long starting off on Sesnon Street. Most of the hike is a moderate uphill. Come join us if you do not want to hike alone or want to learn the trails in the surrounding area. All of my organizers have years of experience in trail hikes and runs. We will be limiting the number of attendees so we can safely keep track of the hikers and not overcrowd the trail. We tend to hike as a big group and leave no one behind. This hike location can be a little tricky to find, so feel free to send me a message me if you have any questions. If something comes up and you cannot, attend please remove yourself from the RSVP list.

HIKE RATING SCALE - (This hike is moderate)
Rating a hike is subjective, meaning the difficulty of a hike will be in direct relation to how often you hike and the type of hike you prefer. Keep in mind that any hike can have the following: un-even hiking surfaces, various obstructions, water crossings or rock hopping.

  • Easy: 1-2 miles with easy terrain (flat road) and little elevation gain.
  • Moderate: 2-4 miles with moderate terrain and some elevation change.
  • Challenging: 4 or more miles or varying terrain.

Water and snacks will be provided before, during, and after the hike.
These trails can get very hot, especially in the summer months. If you're sensitive to heat, please carefully consider whether this hike is right for you. Be sure to drink plenty of fluids the night before and continue to hydrate after the hike to stay safe and comfortable.

This hike will be cancelled in the event of extreme heat, smoke from fires or extreme wind.

All ages are welcome, but anyone under 18 must come with a legal guardian.

ADDRESS: If you are using Waze, apple maps, or google maps, type in 12550 Longacre Ave, Granada Hills CA 91344 - PLEASE NOTE THAT THIS ADDRESS IS A RESIDENCE AND THE CLOSEST ADDRESS TO WHERE WE MEET. Please do not knock on their door and ask about the hike. Before you get to the address you will see our group parked on Sesnon Street right past Classic Drive. You cannot miss us.

My suggestion is taking Balboa to Sesnon and follow Sesnon up past O'Melveny park until you see us. I will be parked on Sesnon with a flag that says GRANADA HILLS HIKING GROUP. Please try to come early so you won't have trouble finding the location. If you have any questions, please feel free to send me a message through meet up or email me at odessa818@aol.com.
