AI and large language models are the current revolution in not only our industry but a disrupter to all industries. Some say AI will be the cause of an event of the significance of the Industrial Revolution.

Computer vision enables machines to interpret images in various ways such as classification, detection, and segmentation. Models have various metrics by which we determine how effective they are. This talk is an overview of these various types of Computer Vision models and the metrics by which we measure them..

Barry is a Product Manager at Leverage LLC, an IOT company focusing in industrial applications of IOT and ML/AI. He has worked in the software industry for over 15 years as a Product Manager, Software Engineer and an Engineering Manager.

LLMs from Scratch - Michael Weishuhn
In ‘LLMs from Scratch,’ I’ll explain how those magical AI chatbots are made, starting from raw data to and finishing with a “working” model. Along the way we’ll cover why they confidently make up facts, why they can’t do math, and why throwing billions of parameters at a problem is considered ‘intelligence’ these days. But we’ll also touch on what they are good at and how you can best put them to use.

In a previous life Mike co-founded Wyzant, a tutoring marketplace. After bootstrapping for 8 years, they raised a series A, weathered a few ups and downs and finally sold the company in 2021. Since then he created a academic literature search engine used by over 35k academics a month, a mushroom identification app, and is now working on a medical startup that empowers patients to better advocate for themselves by providing them with access to the latest most relevant medical literature.
