Sunday Zazen

Details
Sunday Mornings: Zazen, 9am-11am; with optional social time following.
Our weekly Zazen is an opportunity for the Grand Junction Zen Community sangha to practice in the forms we have learned from our teachers. A typical Sunday session comprises:
- Zazen, or seated meditation, is the first and most primary practice modality of our group.
- Kinhin, or walking meditation, is an opportunity to take the peace and insight gleaned from zazen into action.
- Choka, or chanting, is an opportunity to connect mind and body through sound.
Extra zafus (cushions) and chairs are available for attendees, and Zoom attendance is available as well.
Here is a link to the regular chant program. Print outs are provided at the sits (and please do not worry about memorizing any of these! They can be intimidating for newcomers, but there is NO expectation here; we simply show up and participate to the best of our ability).
You may also bring snacks to share for the subsequent social hour if you wish, but this is not required.
Please RSVP for the address; outside downtown GJ.

Every week on Sunday until April 25, 2026
