Hike 100 Challenge: Hodenpyl Dam Rd. to to M-115

HIKE 7.7 MILES ALONG THE HOEDENPYL DAM POND AND BEAUTFUL PINE FORESTS WITH THE GRAND TRAVERSE CHAPTER OF THE NCTA.
We will start the day at Hoedenpyl Dam trail access, shuttle a few cars to the end of the hike(about 5 miles from the start) and begin our day. About halfway through the hike, we will stop at Northern Exposure Campground to lunch and rest. Bathrooms are available. After a restful break we will continue to walk near water with scenic views. We will break as needed.
At the end of the hike, we will jump into our shuttled cars and drive the group back to the beginning.
Bring lunch, snacks, water, bugspray. Poles are optional but is a very flat hike. Good boots are encouraged.
Our pace will be moderate, about 2 miles/hour.
Directions to Start: From Mesick, travel west 1.5 miles on M115 to Hoedenpyl Dam Rd. Drive SW 4.5 miles. Just after Manistee County Line sign, turn left onto gravel road that runs below the dam. Trail access is immediately on the right. Google maps can find this at
