Hike 100 Challenge: South River Road Trailhead to Broomhead Road

This year the Grand Traverse Chapter has a series of hiking events that will cover the entire portion of the NCT maintained by our Chapter, 107 miles from Hodenpyl Dam to Starvation Lake Road. This will be a great opportunity for those who want to hike our entire 100 miles and get their name engraved on the plaque at the Nature Center.
This hike Saturday, June 21 from the South River Road Trailhead to Broomhead Road. We will follow a very scenic portion of the trail running through the Sand Lakes Quiet Area and along the North Branch of the Boardman River, a distance of 8.9 miles.
We will meet at the Broomhead Road trail crossing at 9:00 am. Location is 6.1 miles south of M-72 or 1.9 miles north of Supply Road at 44°41'25.3"N 85°22'01.3"W

We will shuttle the minimum number of vehicles possible to the hike starting point on South River Road then hike back to the meeting location.
Our hiking pace will be about 2 mph with breaks as needed.
Suggested equipment: Hiking boots, poles, clothing as approximate for weather, lunch, water.
