Description
Join us for a Grants Cafe tradition: the GPA Summit Recap!
The GPA Summit brings together hundreds of grant professionals from across the US and beyond. Join us for a recap of best practices, trends, and issues impacting the field. Grants Cafe Facilitator Katherine Heart and Melissa Seldin will share their favorite tips and takeaways from the Grant Professionals Association Annual Summit held in Baltimore on October 30-November 1, 2025.

Melissa Seldin, Ph.D., has spent the past 20 years exploring the intersection of grant writing and evaluation. From a stint at a sponsored program office to serving as an evaluator of a federal communications campaign, she has a 360 view of the process. Melissa attended the GPA Summit as an exhibitor and will share her favorite takeaways from the sessions on AI in Action: Four Smart Strategies for Grant Writers and Let's Make a Better Cake Working with an Evaluator. Melissa can be contacted at [mseldin@levittseldin.com](mailto:mseldin@levittseldin.com).

Katherine FH Heart, GPC, M.Ed. has 23 years of experience providing social mission-driven grant services to nonprofit organizations in Western PA, and 17 years presenting grant training regionally and nationally at https://heartresources.net. Katherine attended virtual sessions and facilitated the LGBTQIA Connect Group. She will share her favorite takeaways from: The Rise of Donor-Advised Funds (and Why It Matters to Grant Pros), Six Resilient Qualities Nonprofits Need Amid Disruptive Landscapes, and Reimagining Rejection: Transforming Funders' Approach to Philanthropy.

The Grants Cafe meets on the last Wednesday of each month, except August and December, from noon to 1:00 p.m. A group of volunteer co-facilitators takes turns hosting each session, which always focuses on some aspect of what it means to be a grant professional. Topics are posted by mid-month to give you plenty of time to sign up. We have been meeting virtually since the pandemic, and occasionally in person, so watch notices carefully.
