What we’re about
This group is all about improving wine knowledge by having thematic tastings (such as, "What are Orange wines"?, "Exploring the Wines of Mexico", "Wines that pair with cheeseburgers", or "Que Syrah Sirah Shiraz") where the host, who happens to be a professional and entertaining wine & whiskey instructor, provides an approachable but thorough "tutorial" of the topic while we taste through 5-6 selections; then, schmoozing and sharing Q&A will do the rest & make it fun! There is no snobbery in this group, and it is intended for either total beginners who know nothing, or moderate to advanced wine enthusiasts who know a lot but want to drill down into a topic and nerd out with like-minded wine "Master Class" fellows!
The group will offer a tasting once every 3-5 weeks or so, possibly at BYOB restaurants where we will all purchase food to go with our wine, or other spaces (gallery, retail, outdoor, co-host, etc) where we will simply have cheese & crackers. There will be a modest fee to cover the cost of the wines (and/or any space rental or corkage fees.)
Tastings will be primarily in Brooklyn (west of Prospect Park), and sometimes in lower Manhattan.
