Whitepages (http://whitepagesinc.com/) is a Top-40 web and mobile property delivering search results at hundreds of queries per second from a large contact database.
Recently we completed a technical evaluation of Aurelius' Titan (http://thinkaurelius.github.io/titan/), a distributed graph database running over Cassandra. The evaluation has been a success and we're incorporating Titan as the storage engine backing our online search and retrieval services. This presentation will explore the evolution of Whitepages data model to a graph view; how we qualified Titan to serve as our primary online object store covering roughly a billion entities and 10 billion entity relationships; and learnings and schema strategies to accommodate our use cases.
