Explore Corporate Networks in Neo4j

It's been a while since we had another graph database meetup in Belgium, but we wanted to make sure that we did at least one more meeting before the summer. And what better occasion to do that than to be one of the happy first visitors/users to the new "Temple of Data" of the Data Innovation Hub in Brussels. I think you will all like the venue: close to public transportation - and not too difficult to get to with a car (if you really wanted to).

For this night we have a couple of ideas in terms of content that all relate to "corporate networks" - stuff that we read about in the press all the time since the Panama Papers broke:

• "How to start with graph databases: the Belgian Public Companies Network example". Rik Van Bruggen will illustrate how he took a small-ish public dataset that was published in De Tijd, imported it into Neo4j in no time, and started exploring the network.

• "OpenTheBox - a full view of Corporate Networks in Belgium". Niek Bartholomeus will explain how he took publicly accessible data, processed it using Spark/Scala, and made it available in Neo4j in a matter of weeks.Afterwards we will have the opportunity to discuss and network over a beer and snack.
