December Book and Movie: The Electric State by Simon Stalenberg

The Electric State is a 2017 dystopian science fiction novel written and illustrated by Swedish artist Simon Stålenhag, which follows a teenage girl and her toy robot on a journey across a post-apocalyptic America. The story is set in an alternate 1990s where the world is littered with the ruins of giant battle drones and a society addicted to virtual reality. Stalenberg’s RPGs are world famous and this is his first novel.
