Seattle GraphQL - The kickoff!

Details

It's time to get together for the first time. Galvanize has been gracious to give us space at their building in downtown Seattle for this inaugural meetup and I will release more information as things come together and I have more confirmations. I want this to be a great social event with plenty of time for us all to meet each other, however, we do have our main talks for this event lined up now! I also have copies of "Learning GraphQL" by Eve Porcello and Alex Banks that we will be giving away as well!

Big thanks to our sponsor for this month, Hasura!

Intro and welcome to Seattle GraphQL.
We'll take a quick dip into frontend GraphQL with the Github API and React/Apollo.

Hasura gives you Realtime GraphQL APIs instantly over any Postgres database.

We will take you over how to set Hasura up with your existing or new Postgres applications, including authentication and authorization so that you can start using GraphQL from your apps without writing backend code. We’ll briefly go over the design and architecture of this high-performance, low-footprint engine.

More info to come...

I also want to open up some time for people that might want to give 5-10 minute lightning talks! If you are interested in one of these spots please get in contact with me.

I'm still in talks with some sponsors to try and get food covered for this event. So, if your company would be interested in sponsoring, please get in touch!

Exact times are tentative and subject to change, but the schedule I'm looking at right now is:
6pm - Doors open!
6:00-6:45 - Hasura.io has sponsored pizza for our dinner!
6:45-7:00 - Tré Ammatuna
7:00-7:30 - Shahidh K Muhammed
7:30-7:40 - Break
7:40-8:10 - Rob Brennan
8:10-8:30 - Social time to wrap up

I look forward to meeting you all!

Warm regards,

Tré Ammatuna
