Step aside resolvers: a new approach to GraphQL execution

Though GraphQL is declarative, resolvers operate field-by-field, layer-by-layer, often resulting in unnecessary work for your business logic even when using techniques such as DataLoader. In this talk, Benjie will introduce his vision for a new general-purpose GraphQL execution strategy whose holistic approach could lead to significant efficiency and scalability gains for all GraphQL APIs.

What's next for GraphQL?

Let's look beyond the known of GraphQL and focus on what might come next for the GraphQL spec. We will look at the not-so-distant future at features like defer and stream and things beyond that, like client-controlled nullability, object identification, fragment modularity, or struct. We will explore these new spec proposals and look at what we hope to tackle with them. Some of these might never reach the final stage, and others will transform into something different over time.
