Ethics of Wealth: Economic Justice and Collective Care

Details

We’re excited to introduce a new discussion series: Community Conversations.
These will be an exploration of Islamic themes and topics that connect with our lived experiences. The goal is to reflect honestly on how we apply, or struggle to apply, Islamic values and teachings in our complex and real lives and to better understand what these values look like when lived out in practice.

Our first community conversation will be on Wealth, as a follow up to the Ruh Round table “Ethics of Wealth: Economic Justice and Collective Care.” This session offers a space to think deeply about how we relate to wealth, comfort, excess and obligations under Islam.
Through guided discussion we’ll explore personal dilemmas, question assumptions, and reflect on our responsibilities to our community and ummah.

If you have an idea for a future topic or if you’d like to lead a session by opening with your own reflections, please let us know!
