This is the original Workingman's Dead jam that happens on the 3rd Saturday of every month so it's easy for spouses to remember. For these monthly jams I'm going to keep the RSVPs at 8 because it promotes attendance and sometimes too many guitars ends up being just the right amount. For the weekly jams, I'll limit guitars to 3.
The jam only has two rules.
1. We always warm up with Cold, Rain and Snow. It's 2 chords and this rule pre-dates me.
2. Whoever is going to sing/lead the song sets the tempo.
that's all the rules.
I would recommend to anyone attending to bring either an IPad with ru.kind or deadstein ready or get the spiral book Whoa Wo What I want to Know is How Does the Song Go?
This is not a greatest hits jam. We almost never play Truckin' and you will probably end up playing some random song that you've never played before. and you'll learn something about that song that you didn't know on your way in. The following is list of songs that we have been known to play lately but almost never at two jams in a row.
Sugaree, Deal, Jack Straw, Ramble on Rose, Bertha, New Speedway Boogie, Cassidy, Birdsong, Black Peter, Aiko, GDTRFB, FOTD, Franklin's Tower, Big Railroad Blues, Me and My Uncle, Shakedown Street, Playin in the Band, Terrapin Station, China Cat -–>Rider, Scarlet Begonias -->Fire on the Mountain, Brokedown Palace
