Welcome to Grateful Gardens Social Scene! Grateful Gardens is at 990 Meridian Avenue in San Jose, behind Community of Christ San Jose Congregation. We hold events outside, in the garden, and inside the church. Our events are free and open to the public, but to organize them and get them on our schedule you need to be a member of the Garden.

Free Community Art and Poetry Project occurs inside the Community of Christ Church Social Hall. This event is family-friendly.About our instructor: Fine Artist Deborah Kennedy is a 2024 Creative Ambassador of San José. She attended a zine-making party held at Grateful Gardens over the summer, then offered to host her own workshop here.
Come create a poster featuring your own beautiful art and eco poems! Deborah will teach well-honed techniques to guide beginning and advanced artists. Supplies are provided!
Creative play a social setting is a great way to spend a Sunday afternoon. We will use vivid watercolors and our short poems inspired by the Grateful Garden in the process.
Snacks and lemonade are on the house. If you care, bring something to share!
Time: 2 to 3 hours
Classes size: up to 15 participants
Ample parking is down the driveway. We enter the church from the parking lot.Deborah will also provide a selection of posters to take home!
- Free Dance Lesson with Robin HornGrateful Gardens, San Jose, CA
Announcing a series of dance classes held October - December, led by competitive dancer Robin Horn of parkavenueballroom.com
- Robin will instruct for the first 40 minutes or so, then there will be dance practice.
- Light fare and drinks are on the house. If so inclined, bring something to share.
- Children must accompany their adults.

Open Mics run Second Saturday nights from September - May. They are sponsored by the Grateful Gardens Social Scene! Light fare and soft drinks are served at intermission. If you care, bring something to share.
