Learn to Flow! Intermediate Skills Clinic
Details
"I saw no bicycle, no human body, heard barely a sound, but it moved through the shadows of the trail, flowing up and down the hills, as if it didn't touch the ground at all."

Finding that special feeling of effortlessly gliding along the trail has not so much to do with the type of terrain as it does the skills of the rider. Understanding how to work your body with the bike, the terrain and the gravity, whether it's up or down, is what makes it all flow together. This starts with improving the different techniques needed for various trails surfaces, decreasing the fear factor to relax your body, and using our eyes and our body-weight shift to handle rocky drops, cornering, switchbacks, in sand and loose crushed granite, or over loose rock or slick-rock.

One of the trickiest types of terrain is our unique crushed granite soil, which makes for difficult riding without understanding the techniques needed for riding on this kind of surface. We will be working on how to keep traction while climbing and descending, along with specific braking and turning skills for this terrain.

Several sections along this trail present other issues such as step-ups and rolling drops rock drops, which will also allow us to work on these specific skills.
