Gratitude Hike: Ragged Mountain
Details
End 2025 with a Bang!
Join us for a 5 Mile Gratitude Hike at 9 am at Ragged Mountain. This is one of my favorites! It is not a beginner's hike!
We’re trading a stroll for a scramble to wrap up 2025 with a challenging and breathtaking Ragged Mountain Preserve.
This iconic Connecticut loop is the perfect place to feel the burn to get to the most scenic views, reflect on the year, ground ourselves and celebrate for all we have overcome in 2025 while holding space for each other for what is to come in 2026!
We’ll be tackling the challenging Green, Blue, and Red Trail Loop, famous for its rock scrambles, steep climbs, and incredible vistas—a true finale to our hiking season!
What to Expect (The Bang!)
This is an invigorating hike, not a leisurely walk! We will experience the ridge line views overlooking the area, navigate the classic traprock formations, and share our gratitude:
The Ascent (9:00 AM): We will start promptly with a challenging climb to get the heart pumping.
Mid-Hike Gratitude Check: We will pause at the main ridge overlook to rest, enjoy the incredible views, and share one thing we are profoundly grateful for from 2025.
Celebratory Conclusion (Approx. 12:30 PM): We will finish back at the parking area. Feel free to stick around for high-fives and a quick celebratory snack before heading out.
Essential Gear (Please come prepared!)
This is a strenuous, rocky trail in late autumn. Hiking boots with ankle support are mandatory.
Water, Layers: Non-cotton wicking layers (it will be cold at the top).
Trail snacks (nuts, bars, fruit) for energy.
Poles: Recommended for stability on the steep descent.
Safety Note: This trail is challenging. If you are new to hiking, please prepare accordingly. We will stick together, but be ready for rugged terrain!
For safety and legal purposes, do not just show up. Please take the time to register and have your guest register for each event. Thank you.
