An evening with internationally acclaimed author and architect, Charles Durrett, Sept 18th 2025.

Gratitude Village Colorado, an emerging fully accessible, NetZero cohousing community on Denver’s west side, is proud to welcome Charles Durrett, internationally acclaimed architect, author and cohousing pioneer, for a public event celebrating the power of intentional community, sustainability and connected living.

Durrett, who helped introduce the concept of cohousing to the United States and has authored 16 influential books on the subject, will give a keynote presentation on Thursday, September 18, 2025, from 6:00–8:00 PM at Gather at Lakeside. His talk will explore the foundations of cohousing, highlight inspiring communities across the country, and spotlight his latest work, One Life, Live It!, which chronicles the story of Solheimar—a thriving intergenerational, neuroinclusive community in Iceland designed for meaning, mutual support and joy.

The evening starts off with an author meet & greet, book signing and refreshments before Durrett begins his 50 minute presentation which is followed by Q&A and community discussion. This is an ideal event for individuals, families, housing & disability advocates, policymakers and anyone curious about more sustainable and connected ways to live.
