What we’re about
If you love getting outdoors or are looking for a place to start, this group is for you! Whether you're a beginner, a seasoned expert, or anyone, all participants are welcome!
Gratitude Choice Project Wild Adventures (GCP Wild Adventures) is an outdoor exploration group that blends adventure, mindfulness, gratitude, and community. We offer challenging hikes, horseback riding, kayaking, fly fishing, and more, all infused with the GCP framework—gratitude circles, mindfulness walks, and meaningful connections.
We aim to make the outdoors more accessible to underrepresented groups and those historically excluded from outdoor spaces, fostering personal growth and a deeper connection to nature. We will host two monthly excursions—one Sunday hike and one Saturday adventure—combining physical challenges with reflective practices.
For those seeking gentler experiences, our mother group, Gratitude Choice Project (GCP), offers weekly gratitude walks and more moderate hikes. Using a holistic model to enhance the well-being of individuals and our community, we provide opportunities to give back, including fundraiser walks for Alzheimer’s and domestic violence awareness, food and clothing drives, and community service projects like feeding the homeless, cleaning city parks, and planting gardens at Squire. Please sign up and meet new friends! They are all waiting to invite you in! https://www.meetup.com/gratitude-choice-project/
My friends, there’s something for everyone—all in the spirit of gratitude! Our mantra is, "There are no strangers or friends you haven't met yet," so join us as we explore, grow, and make a difference, one adventure at a time.
We will collaborate with other organizations to offer gratitude hikes, kayaking, stand-up paddle boarding, horseback riding, fly fishing, and other social bonding activities at a nominal cost at Riverfront Park in Glastonbury, CT, during the warmer months (visit https://www.llbeanoutdoors.com/glastonbury-connecticut for their full schedule of offerings). We are looking forward to seeing you out in the wild!

outdoor_discovery@llbean.com | 1-888-552-3261 | HOURS: 7 days a week, 8 a.m.-6 p.m. ET - Exploring nature in a kayak is a healthy and fun way to enjoy the outdoors. Our course begins with a brief introduction and safety talk from our friendly paddling instructors, who will share their knowledge gained from years of kayaking. They'll outfit you with a personal flotation device (PFD), kayak and paddling equipment, giving you insight on the best ways to set up your boat. Then, you'll receive instruction on a variety of paddling techniques. This is a great course for all levels of fitness.
After you feel comfortable on the water, you'll set out in a kayak on a guided, interpretive tour with your group. You'll experience the freedom of skimming across the water, learning about the ecosystem and history of the area.
Let’s get out on the water and flow with gratitude. Feel free to message me if you have any questions about registration or payment!
