Gray's Theology tomorrow: Evolution

From: Dave
Sent on: Wednesday, July 29, 2009 3:55 PM
Howdy, folks!

OK, we're not really talking about evolution! But Gray's Theology is evolving; read on for the changes.

First, though, we've got a new topic up on the blog, so be ready to talk Contentment tomorrow:

I hope to see you there. If you haven't RSVP'ed, you can do that here:

When: July 30,[masked]:00 PM

Gray's Tied House
915 Kimball Lane
Verona, WI 53593

So we've got some exciting changes ahead! As many of you know, I will soon be moving to Jerusalem for the upcoming academic year, as my wife is going to be working on her dissertation there. A happy result of this is that Gray's is going to become more democratic.

The first major change is that topics will be chosen by a rotating roster of Gray's faithfuls who have agreed to perform this role. This month's topic was chosen by Josh, and he'll facilitate the discussion tomorrow. Other topic introducers will be Russell and Anthony. The group doesn't need to be limited to this group--there's a noticable lack of female discussion leaders, for example--so please nominate your peers to this role as you feel appropriate. You can pass on your recommendations to Anthony, Josh, Russell, or Lena, and those 4 will make the final call.

The second major change is that Lena will be administering our meetup website. She will be the official organizer of the group. The topic introducer folks (someone needs to come up with a better name for these guys) can pinch hit for her when needed, too.

One final note: As Gray's becomes "more democratic", it's important to realize the role *you* play in making Gray's successful. When you come to Gray's, I hope you'll bring not only your insights and beliefs, but also your curiosity. Ask questions. Follow up other folks' statements with more probing. By asking questions, everyone will keep the discussion interesting and rich.

I'm looking forward to an interesting and rich discussion tomorrow! See you then.
