ALTERNATE Saturday hike @ Scott's Run

Hello GFHK hikers!!!
Welcome to a Saturday morning ALTERNATE hike at 8:30 AM! For a change of scenery, we will hike at the Scott's Run Nature Preserve and NOT at GREAT FALLS PARK!!!!! Weather forecast is currently for p.m. rain, but we will be done before noon.
This will be a moderate hike that may last up to 3 hours and cover 4-5 miles., It does have some short, hilly sections that may be slippery if wet and has two easy stream crossings and one short rocky section.

If you are coming from the beltway (Georgetown Pike exit) head west. The parking lot is at the bottom of the hill on the right, opposite the Swinks Mill intersection, NOT the small lot near the Beltway. Coming from Great Falls village along Georgetown Pike, the parking lot is a few miles past the entrance to Great Falls Park on the left, immediately past a small bridge. If there is a lot of traffic, it may be difficult to turn in ( do not get rear-ended) and it is even more difficult to exit safely!
We will hike the perimeter trails at Scotts Run, including a visit the Scotts Run waterfall (see photo) before returning to the parking lot.
