Billy Goat Trail - Sections B and C (NOT the rock scramble section)

This is an alternitive week hike on the Maryland side of the Potmac on Billy Goat trail sections B and C.
Section B recently reopened after being closed for several years due to flood damage and is under 2 miles long. . It has no significent rock scrambles. Section C is the easiest section of the Billy Goat Trails and is similar to our usual hikes at Great Falls park. Section length is 1.6 miles and we will be walking an additional mile on the C&O Canel towpath to complete a loop. Hiking both trails and the C & O Canal towpath connecting them will be about 6 miles total. We will meet at the Carderock Recreation Area off the Clara Barton Parkway. Cross over the Parkway and turn right to enter the park, then turn right at the stop sign and immediately left into the first parking lot. Parking is free.
NOTE: The photo above DOES NOT depict the trail; it shows the top of the rock climbing area at Carderock. We will follow the actual trail to view the rock faces safely from the bottom.
