Harpers Ferry - Maryland Heights

This will be a semi-strenuous hike using a little-used trail at Harpers Ferry to Maryland Heights. Total distance is about 4 miles with approximately 1200-feet of elevation. Hike will be limited to 10 persons and will be postponed ONLY in the event of bad weather or lack of interest!!. Please do not sign up unless your are comitted to attend. Meet-up location will be at my residence in Herndon to form carpools for those who wish to do so, with a firm DEPARTURE time of 8 AM. Address will be provided to those who sign up. A national park pass (or $20) is required for each vehicle: please note that Great Falls pass is NOT accepted. Note also: parking must be at the visitors' center to catch the free shuttle to the trailhead, This shuttle leaves every hour, beginning at 9 AM. and is MANDATORY because the ped bridge crossing the Potomac to Maryland is closed!!
