๐ŸŒŠ Middle Prong Waterfall Hike โ€“ Beginner Edition
๐Ÿ—“๏ธ Saturday | 10:00 AM
๐Ÿ“ Middle Prong Trailhead โ€“ Tremont, near Townsend
๐Ÿฅพ ~4 miles round trip | 175 ft elevation gain
๐Ÿšถโ€โ™€๏ธPace: Scenic Scroll

Iโ€™m leading a chill, inclusive, beginner-friendly hike along the Middle Prong Trail, one of the prettiest waterfall stretches in the Smokies, because my new ACL and I are still on shaky terms.

This hike is mostly flat, beautifully scenic, and features waterfalls so pretty they'll make your camera cry.

If you're looking to race, compete, or dominate the trail leaderboard... keep scrolling.
This hike is all about waterfalls, good vibes, making new friends, and enjoying the view.

Hikers can turn back at any time as needed. Per my surgeon's insistence, I will be turning back as soon as the elevation begins.

๐Ÿฅพ HIKE DETAILS

Meet at 10:00 AM. Earlier to stretch and prep bags.

2 miles out, 2 miles back

Total elevation gain: just 175 ft (basically a brisk walk on fairly level ground)

Time estimate: ~2 hours including waterfall gawking, snack breaks, and joy

๐Ÿ”ฅ WILD CARD OPTION: INDIAN FLATS FALLS
For the mountain goats among us: If someone wants to lead a group to Indian Flats Falls (8.3 miles RT | 1,175 ft gain), weโ€™ll send you off with fanfare around the 2 mile mark. Same trail, more glory, and probably a few glutes that will text you rude things the next day.

๐Ÿงบ PACK THESE GOODIES:

Water

Snack (Trail mix? Granola? Entire cheese board? You do you.)

Comfy hiking shoes or trail runners

A rain jacket (spoiler alert ahead...)

Enthusiasm and a cell phone or camera.

๐ŸŒง๏ธ RAIN PLAN (Because: Hey, it's the Smokies, a temperate rain forest, so we may see at least a touch of rain.) Iโ€™m a 900 Miler. I've hiked in rain, snow, sleet, etc.
Unless thereโ€™s thunder or lightning, Iโ€™m hiking.
Besides, rain on an easy hike will help you get over your anxiety for hiking in the rain.
So bring your jacket and letโ€™s channel our inner woodland creatures. ๐Ÿฆฆ

๐Ÿ“ฃ RSVP + Let me know if you want to lead the longer hike!
Otherwise, come stroll with me and enjoy the kind of trail that lets you breathe, laugh, and maybe make friends with a salamander.

See you Saturday at 10:00! Donโ€™t make me be the only one in the parking lot doing pre-hike stretches. ๐Ÿ˜„
