This will be a map marker, shuttle hike.

Distance: 4.7 miles
Elevation gain: 435 feet
Elevation decent: 2,215 feet
Type of hike: Shuttle, drive time 10 minuite
Trail: Single track dirt, rocks and roots, etc......

Pack everything up, meet at Smokemount Campground around 9:00am head up to Kanati Fork trailhead leave asmany cars as possible. If you are not camping and want to meet us here that way we can take as few cars as we can to the Thomas Divide trailhead, we will need few volunteers for this.

Starting from the Thomas divide trailhead along Newfound Gap Road the trail will be slightly up hill first 1.5 miles. Turning onto Kanati Fork trail with a slight decent knocking these miles out before lunch.

There is not a bald here anymore however we may have a chance to see the flame Azaleas bloom.

Remember to pack your ten essentials: https://www.rei.com/learn/expert-advice/day-hiking-checklist.html

It is important to hydrate the day before as the summer heat can drain you very quickly.

Rain gear is always needed in the Smokies even if it is only carried to keep the rain away.
