CAPE BRETT 32.6 KM AND WAITANGI TO HARURU FALLS TRACK 10.5 KM

We'll walk the magnificent Cape Brett Track and the stunning Waitangi to Haruru Falls Track.

#### Itinerary

🚗 Friday September 2025: Travel & Waitangi Walk

• 8:00 am: Drive to Paihia and check into accommodation.
• Afternoon: Walk the Waitangi to Haruru Falls Track.
• 6:00 pm: Return to accommodation.
• 7:00 pm (Optional): Group dinner at a local restaurant.

🥾 Saturday**, September 27, 2025:** Cape Brett Track (8-hour hike)

• 7:30 am: Drive to Rawhiti Road in Oke Bay (1 hour 15 min drive).
• 9:00 am: Start hiking the Cape Brett Track (~8 hours).
• Evening: Stay overnight at Cape Brett Hut.

🥾 Sunday, September 28, 2025: Return Hike & Drive Back

• 7:00 am: Walk back to Oke Bay.
• Afternoon: Drive back to Auckland (estimated arrival ~7:00 pm).

ACCOMODATION

Paihia (26 Sept): There are several backpackers in Paihia. Haka Lodge has both private and dorm rooms (dorm rooms $46).
27 Sept: Book Cape Brett Hut:

The hut is serviced and costs $25.

We also need a walkway permit costing $40 per person.

WHAT TO BRING

(The hut has mattresses, water supply, toilets, handwashing facilities and heating.)

NOTE:
Your safety is your responsibility.

Rafick will lead to control speed of the group, do not go ahead, we are in no rush to finish.

Those getting rides pay drivers $30 for fuel.

Attendees send $8 to the Rafick after the trip for helping to pay meetup dot com costs, and navigation and safety equipment for the group.
