Petty Officer First Class Stephen and his wife Ashley found out just few weeks ago that they are being relocated. They don't know where in the world yet. But they know they’ll be leaving their base in Japan very soon. And they must get their Great Dane, Guinness, back to the U.S. to live with Ashley’s mom until they return.

But they can’t do it - unless you can help.

Ashley told us that it only cost $1,700 to fly Guinness to Japan 3 years ago, but since then prices have risen and new Japanese regulations require that they go through a customs broker. These changes mean price is now more than 4-times what it was then. Stephen and Ashley knew that they’d be leaving Japan one day, so they’ve been saving for Guinness’s flight. They have $3,000 saved, which they thought would be more than enough. Can you imagine their shock when they learned that it will cost $7,500 for Guinness to go home?

Stephen, Ashley, and their three children are so scared, so worried for Guinness. Average families in Japan do not have room for a big 135lb dog. Without a ticket to the United States, Guinness would most likely be euthanized. And now they’re asking us to help them – to rally for this military family and their big, beloved, beautiful boy.

Just look at his face. He is really just a baby at heart – he even carries around his own special blanket everywhere he goes. And Stephen and Ashley make sure to spoil him. They have a special couch for him to use as a bed. They cannot imagine what Guinness would do without them. When he is apart from them even for a short time he starts losing his fur, and he stops eating.

Stephen and Ashley will lose Guinness without our help. Will you help us keep this family together? Anything you can give will help.

This is a military family whose love for their country and their dog knows no bounds. They’ve taken him all the way to the other side of the world so he can be with them while they serve. Will you thank them for their loyalty and help them bring Guinness home?

Please give right away, as they must get Guinness on a plane before they leave Japan. Your donation will help Guinness stay with his family and help many other military families struggling with the same high cost of pet transportation when given service relocation orders.

Thank you for standing with us as we help our animal-loving military families!

With deep appreciation,

JD Winston
Executive Director

P.S. Petty Officer Stephen and his family need your help! Even though they’ve saved over $3,000 for his flight – the quote to fly Guinness from Japan to America is $7,500! Any young family would be overwhelmed by that. Please help us keep this family together by making a donation to Operation Military Pets today.
