Let's discuss A Place in the Sun (1951) and director George Stevens!

Details
If you were with us last month, you know our praise of Shelly Winters' performance in The Great Gatsby was unanimous. Well, she's ba-ack! This time in George Stevens' A Place in the Sun (1951), our virtual meetup movie for June, hosted by Iris Falk.
George Eastman (Montgomery Clift) is down on his luck and new in town. Things may be looking up when his wealthy uncle gives George an entry-level job in his factory. There, he meets co-worker Alice Tripp (Shelly Winters) with whom he launches into a romantic relationship, despite company policy warning against such fraternization. George may have hit the jackpot at his uncle's posh party where he meets stunning socialite Angela Vickers (Elizabeth Taylor), and the two fall in love.
The love triangle seems doomed from the start. What's George to do?
