Chicken Culling Workshop
Details
Come learn the hands-on homesteading skill of processing chickens for meat. Participants will practice humane homestead methods that are sanitary and efficient for taking the birds all the way through to being ready to eat. We will also touch on how to respectfully and ritually harvest the animals whose lives are so much a part of our own.
- $20+ suggested donation (none turned away). Please bring cash, or pay using PayPal (includes credit/debit payment options).
- The first ~10 event registrants will be invited to take a bird home at the end. Registrants after that must message the organizer Caroline to request access. If you don't mind not taking home a bird, you'll still learn the hands-on process and everyone in attendance will get a chance to practice each step of the process that they want to.
This workshop usually lasts over two hours, depending on how many birds, how efficient we are, and leaving time for questions and discussion.
Seats are limited to a maximum of 10 individuals or households (based on number of birds we expect to have available). If you would like to attend but do NOT want a bird to take home, please note that in the comments below.
