What we’re about

Thank you for your interest in our group - Greater Eastern Melbourne Bikers (GEMB).

The goal of this group is to connect motorcyclists who enjoy riding in the outer eastern hills and rural countryside of Melbourne but can only dedicate about 5 - 6 hours to any given ride.

We lead busy lives and many of us are unable to commit full days to a ride let alone overnight or longer.

This group welcomes all enthusiastic motorcyclists, but please understand safety and mutual respect are a priority.

If you are interested in riding with a group that knows the Outer East, Outer South East and Outer North East, take safety seriously, prioritise respect for each other and other road users, and schedule rides that accommodate most bike types, riding styles and capabilities click JOIN.

Please ensure you have a photo on your profile that distinguishes you from other riders (i.e. you can be recognised among a group of geared-up riders, helmet & motorbike pics ok) and your preferred name (what people will call you).

When you join you will be asked some questions, the questions are designed to help organise events that will suit most members.

We have defined riding capability below (recommended speed is the yellow speed sign you see when approaching a corner e.g. 35 km/h):

BEGINNER

  • comfortable taking tight corners at the recommended speed

INTERMEDIATE

  • comfortable taking tight corners at 1.5 times the recommended speed

ADVANCED

  • comfortable taking tight corners at more than 2 times the recommended speed
