The Punk Monk's Musings - Manchester Humanists
Details
Rev David Gray known as 'Punk Monk' is a Manchester personality. He wears a rainbow dog collar and does humanist style ceremonies as well as religious ones. He is closely associated with the Gorton Monastery. Hard to pin down when it comes to his denomination, he is said to belong to the Universal Church. Maybe that is his strength. He has lost his faith in religion (but not in god); he serves as a military chaplain. He says having aspergers is one of the best gifts he has ever had!
He will talk about his life and radio shows, and something about some of his projects. And there will be laughter - guaranteed!
Contributions: We ask for the following contributions towards the cost of room hire: members £2.50; non-members £3.50 (students £1). However, there is no charge for those attending their first meeting. In addition, there is a charge of £2 for tea or coffee and a biscuit.
We usually start gathering around 7 pm to meet and greet.
The meeting formally ends on or before 9.15pm but some of us go on to The Waterhouse, 67-71 Street, Manchester for further discussion and liquid refreshment!
