"If a man must be obsessed by something, I suppose a boat is as good as anything, and perhaps a bit better than most. A small sailing craft is not only beautiful, it is seductive and full of strange promise and the hint of trouble." - From The Sea and The Wind That Blows E. B. White -- 1899-1985"
Meet with other sailing enthusiasts at our Meetup events, attend sailing education seminars, share stories, find skippers, find crew, and go sailing!! Last year many members became crew on competitive racing boats, others learned to sail, and some went for day sails cruising around Long Island Sound. We offer through City Island Yacht Club, a Club Boat Timeshare that offers unlimited sailing on three Catalina 25's and a J/24.
This years Meet and Greet event included 90 skippers and potential crew members connecting. No sailing experience is necessary, we offer a range of seminars that appeal to all levels, from newbies to advanced sailors. Our Meetup events are held on City Island, about an hour's ride from Grand Central Station on the #6 Lexington Ave local plus a short bus (#29) ride, also convenient to the Hutchinson River Parkway and the I-95. There is even a direct Express Bus that runs up Madison Ave right to City Island! ".
"Believe me, my young friend, there is nothing, absolutely nothing, half so much worth doing as simply messing about in boats. In them, out of them, it doesn't really matter" Kenneth Grahame, "The Wind in the Willows"
