City Island Yacht Club is proud to welcome Dr. Nigel Jollands, leadership coach Veronica Lysaght, PCC, and the crew of Novara—a 60-foot aluminum expedition yacht currently en route to New York City as part of the Novara One Planet Project.

Join us this Sunday at 3:00 PM for an inspiring conversation about their mission, climate action initiatives, and upcoming Arctic expedition. Whether you're a sailor, explorer, or passionate about the planet, this is an event you won’t want to miss. All are welcome!

Novara has traveled to some of the world’s most remote coastlines to document the impacts of climate change on vulnerable communities. Their current expedition includes an attempt to transit the Northwest Passage this summer—and we’re thrilled to host them at CIYC on their way north.

Guests will also have the rare opportunity to tour Novara, a rugged, high-latitude Aerorig schooner designed to break through ice and withstand the harshest conditions. Tours begin at 2:00 PM—please arrive early if you'd like to come aboard.

Whether you're a science enthusiast, educator, sailor, or engaged global citizen, this event offers a meaningful opportunity to learn, connect, and support a global movement for climate resilience.
