Data visualization in R using ggplot2 and ggmap

A local data viz expert, Katie Florko ( https://twitter.com/kflorko?lang=en) , will be doing a practical tutorial for ggplot2 and ggmap. The following topics will be explored: basic data viz principles in R, why ggplot2, visualizing spatial data, and ggmap. The goal is to highlight the functions and ease of using these packages to visualize diverse data in R.

If you wish to work along, please bring a laptop with RStudio. Please ensure you have the libraries ggplot2 (http://ggplot2.org) and ggmap (https://journal.r-project.org/archive/2013-1/kahle-wickham.pdf) installed in advance because internet access can be limited at times for guests.
