Hi _. Welcome to Greater Toronto Area Racquet Players. Although signing up is optional to tennis events and although such events that I host are open to members of all levels:
- events put on by other organizers may only be open to members of certain (often no lower than intermediate-level) tennis-playing abilities
- honouring sign-ups is NOT optional, with a mandatory minimum suspension period, with respect to tennis events I've planned to host, in effect (effective until further notice, the end of the 10th year following a no-show [https://www.meetup.com/greater-toronto-ontario-area-tennis-players/events/303294822 {late-August 2025 Moss Park event}]), due to too many no-shows in particular to:
-- the 1st 3 events I'd planned for June 2021
-- Moss Park events in each of (1 per month) September 2021, early-June 2022, August 2022, early-August 2023 and mid-July 2024
- I cancelled in summer 2021 all events that I had, from the June Goulding Park event to the end of July, planned to host
- I am prepared to repeat the strategy I outlined in my last point should, to too many consecutive events, there be enough members who no-show to enable events to, at best, only barely go ahead

All events that I host are weather-dependent, with a Goulding Park one in June 2018 almost completely rained out (https://twitter.com/davwain1/status/1010514391920308224?s=20). That said, any event for which the weather is favourable and that I host, barring something such as an illness or family emergency that makes me unable to attend such an event, will be a go.

Please make sure to honour event sign-ups you make. Although signing up for events is optional, honouring them, as I outlined earlier, isn't. Your very future as a member of this group will very much depend on your ability to honour sign-ups, if any, to events for which you choose to sign up.
