Invasive Species Removal at Lund Rd Protection Area, View Royal!

We will be removing invasive Himalayan Blackberry and Daphne from this beautiful park!

MEETING SPOT/PARKING

Meet at the entrance of the conservation area here: https://bit.ly/3xtZYWN at the intersection of Thetis Vale Crescent and Lund Rd, just next to the address 134 Thetis Vale Crescent. There is street parking along Lund Rd.

Bus: There is a bus stop a block away at Six Mile Rd and Chilco Rd. Check BC Transit Schedules to plan your route here: https://www.bctransit.com/victoria/home

Look for GVGT tent and signs!

WASHROOMS
Unfortunately, there is no washrooms at the site but there are washrooms at the Atkins Rd entrance of the Galloping Goose trail- a 3 min car ride away or 10 minute walk.

WHAT TO BRING
• Wear clothes you don't mind getting dirty
• Long sleeves and long pants to protect from thorny plants and insects
• Rain jacket in case it rains
• Refillable water bottle. We will have water bottles and refreshments halfway through!
• A hat, sunscreen
• Your own gardening gloves, tools, safety glasses (We provide them if you don't have your own)
• Mask
• Sturdy closed toe shoes/boots

FLOW OF THE ACTIVITY
• Meet at 9:45am for sign-in, introductions (please be on time)
• If you can't find us, please call 778-677-9078
• Remove invasive plants
• Take break for refreshments half way through
• Volunteer until 1 pm then sign-out at end, take home an eco-gift!
