Remove Invasive Plants & Make Friends at UVic!
Details
We will be removing invasive English Ivy from the natural areas around the Sedgewick building on the University of Victoria Campus.
This is an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience doing ecological restoration, learn new skills, and make new friends!
Please fill in Volunteer Registration if this is the first time you are volunteering with the Green Team: [http://bit.ly/2WdZeAT](https://greenteams.formstack.com/forms/greater_victoria_green_team_volunteer_registration_form) or if you are under 18: [http://bit.ly/parentguardianform](https://greenteams.formstack.com/forms/greater_victoria_green_team_volunteer_registration_form_guardian). You only need to fill out this form ONCE, before your very first activity.
We will be working rain or shine.
**Anyone interested in arriving early to help with set up or participating in a facilitation role can email Kaitlin@GreenTeamsCanada.ca**
MEETING SPOT
Meet in the courtyard in front of the Sedgewick building on campus at UVic.
Sedgewick is a short, long building that is green in colour.
This building is on the North West end of campus nearest Parking Lot 4. The Sedgewick building is in between the David Turpin Building (Social Sciences and Mathematics building) and the Harry Hickman Building.
Follow campus maps or the google map pin through meetup to find our precise meeting location.
Parking: You are welcome to park in Parking Lot 4 or Parking Lot 8 at UVic. From the parking lot, head towards Ring Road, cross it and you will walk past the Turpin Building (blue-grey tall building), and you will find us in the courtyard in front of the Sedgewick building.
Parking is free on Sundays (and always free when volunteering with the Green Team - just ask if you are unsure!)
Cycling: There is covered bike parking right at the Sedgewick building
Bus: A lot of Victoria buses go to the UVic bus loop! Check BC Transit Schedules to plan your route here: https://www.bctransit.com/victoria/home
Carpooling: Use the comments at the bottom of the page to arrange carpooling with other volunteers!
Look for GVGT signs!

There are washrooms in the UVic Law Library building near Parking Lot 8.
