YOUTH ACTIVITY! Remove Invasive Species from Lagoon West Park in Colwood!

Details

We're removing invasive Himalayan blackberry with local students. We will be right behind the Esquimalt Lagoon, enjoying some ocean views and breeze!

This activity will go on rain or shine.

Session Times:
9:30 - 11:30 (Arsenault & Jones)
12:00 - 1:30 (Knoke)

Parking for this park is located at the end of Anchorage Ave, Colwood, near the Arts and Culture Colwood building

WASHROOMS
There is a public washroom at the corner of Lagoon Rd and Ocean Blvd (about two minutes walk from our work site).

WHAT TO BRING

  • Wear clothes you don't mind getting dirty
  • Long sleeves and long pants to protect from thorny plants, & insects
  • Refillable water bottle with water (we have water for refills)
  • Sturdy closed toe shoes/boots
  • Rain jacket in case it rains
  • Hat
  • Your own gardening gloves, tools and/or safety glasses if you prefer - otherwise we’ll provide these.

WHAT WE PROVIDE YOU

  • Gloves, tools and safety glasses
  • Education and demonstration on what we will be doing (no experience necessary!)
  • Refreshments (e.g. baked goods, veggies, fruits, granola bars)
  • Photos of you in action
  • Volunteer letters (on request)

This activity is taking place across 2 sessions. Please arrive at the start of your designated session time.
