Join us for a 5 or 10 km walk on Thetis Lake trails
Details
Please join us for a 5 or 10 km walk at Thetis Lake Regional Park, starting from the main parking lot, Six Mile Road, View Royal, BC. Please plan on arriving at least by 9:45 for registration to ensure a prompt start to our walk at 10 am. Note the 10 km route is quite challenging and may take up to three hours to complete. Boots and hiking poles recommended.
The 10km walkers walk up Seymour Hill to the spectacular view and the compass rose. The route also includes the picturesque Trillium Trail, McKenzie Creek Trail and Upper Thetis Lake Trail. Seymour Hill provides great views over Thetis Lakes and surrounding hills. On the top of Seymour Hill is a cairn with a compass rose. A compass rose displays the orientation of cardinal directions, north, south, east and west on a map.
Five km walkers will take a scenic walk around Thetis Lake.
Thetis Lake Park is a regional conservation area near Langford BC. It was established as Canada's first nature sanctuary in 1958.
