Meet at Mt. Work Parking Lot, Munn Road, Saanich V9E 1G8. Registration opens at 9:30 am and closes at 9:55 am. The walk starts at 10:00 am.
Driving directions from Victoria:
- take Hwy #1 N from Victoria, leaving at exit 10
- veer right at fork to Burnside Rd W at sign, TL at Prospect Lake Rd sign
- TL at Munn Rd sign, continue for 7km (passing the entrance to Francis King Reg Park)
- pass Fork Lake Rd then TR into “Mt Work Regional Park – Munn” parking lot at large sign
- additional parking is available on Munn Rd
PT350 Mount Work Cabin Route 5km (rated 2B) and 7km (rated 2C)
The 5 km route will take walkers past the serene "Fork Lake" and up to the Kinghorn Cabin. This unique, rustic cabin is open to day hikers where you can get out of the rain, have a snack or read through the interesting binder of information on the Kinghorn family. Notice the simple wood inlay work next to the ceiling. The 7 km route continues through the forest on the “Troll Hill” trail and the “Springridge” trail. Regular walkers do not necessarily indicate their attendance on Meetup, but our weekday walks typically attract 10 to 12 people; on weekends typical attendance is between 15 and 40 people.
New walkers are always welcome.
