Bioregioning Workshop
Details
Bioregioning is the ethos and action involved with living in a place and working with its natural systems. By asserting our personal agency and responsibility we can become stewards of the air, water and soil and become the good ancestors we need to be. Not a new concept at all, it is the way humans have lived, adapted and thrived for thousands of years. As a new concept for our modern, industrial society, however, it will take a shift of our own minds to recover what was the ‘natural’ way to live so many years ago.
At this workshop, attendees will identify their own bioregion, and can start to build a presentation to use and expand for their own target audience for change. This could be any grade student, local representatives, regional managers, or the general public.
By uncovering the qualities and boundaries of your own bioregion, your understanding of your local geography and biophysical surroundings will help you identify high impact points of various Nature-based Solutions (NbS) you will be able to assess where to best apply your time and efforts.
