DC Greek Language MeetUp

Hope our παρεα is having a nice Fall season. We will not MeetUp on Thanksgiving, but will get together on Thursday, December 4th at 7:30 pm, at The Parthenon in NW DC (turns out Talia's Cuzina in Kensington closes at 7 pm). I hope you can join us despite the change of venue.

• [DCGreeks.com](https://www.dcgreeks.com/) invites us to Greek Heritage Night with the Washington Wizards on Monday, December 1st at 7:00 PM as they take on Giannis Antetokounmpo, re-signed Thanasis Antetokounmpo, and newly signed rookie Alex Antetokounmpo. The night will also feature a pregame performance by the Byzantio Greek Dance & Cultural Arts Program. • AHEPA Chapter 31 presents its annual concert "A Byzantine Christmas” on Saturday, December 13th, at 7:00 pm, at Saint Sophia Greek Orthodox Cathedral. The concert will “create an immersive cultural experience that bridges religious and communal traditions, showcasing the sacred music of the Byzantine tradition alongside local and regional caroling, spanning over the islands and mainland of Greece, all the way to the Black Sea and Asia Minor.” A cocktail reception will follow the concert in the Atrium of the Frosene Center. Tickets range from $35 to $100 and are available at DC Greeks.
• Mark your calendars for the Hellenic Society Prometheas’ Inaugural Cultural Heritage Awards Gala on Saturday, January 24th at 6 pm, at the Falls Church Marriott Fairview Park at 3111 Fairview Park Drive. The event will honor three local Hellenes who inspire and assist Prometheas in supporting and promoting Hellenic culture and language. Tickets are $150 and can be purchased at DC Greeks.
