Fountains & Gardens in DC
Details
Join us for an approximately 4.5 mile walk around DC's water fountains and gardens. The fountains should still be running before they are turned off for the winter.
Meet at Union Station (metro accessible, red line) where there are bathrooms downstairs at 11 am. We will depart at 11:10 from the main entrance in front of the building. Bring some water and snacks. Visitor centers are closed due to the government shutdown.
We will go counterclockwise and see the most prominent and famous fountains of DC including The Neptune Fountain in front of the Library of Congress. Many of the fountains have neoclassical and classical revival architecture.
The walk should take about 2 hours. I attach a map of the approximate route we are going to follow although note that we are starting the walk in front of Union Station.
