San Carlos Loop - After Work Hike
Details
Let’s get a workout! This short but challenging 2.54 mile hike will start at the end of San Carlos Way and head up Mount Burdell on a wide, unnamed trail until we reach our peak elevation of 932 feet. This portion of the hike is a steady uphill climb without switchbacks and is moderately strenuous. For the second portion of the hike we’ll head east on the Middle Burdell Fire Road, take in the views, and then start our descent via the Old Quarry Trail. We’ll then connect with the San Carlos Fire Road which will lead us back to our starting point. Along the way we’ll wind along a ravine, take portions of 4 different trails, and burn a few hundred calories (give or take). This loop hike should take 1 hour and 20 minutes to complete.
Place: Mount Burdell Open Space Preserve
Trailhead: 488 San Carlos Way, Novato Ca
Recommended Gear: Pants and long sleeve shirt.
Hope to see you there!
