Rush Creek after Work Hike

Join us for a hike in Marin County’s Rush Creek Open Space Preserve. Features include a climb up to a ridge with outstanding views of Mt. Burdell and the Rush Creek Marsh, a ridge walk through mixed hardwood forest, the Saddlewood Neighborhood, Cemetery Marsh, a levee, and the flats along Rush Creek Marsh.
Trailhead: This loop hike begins and ends at the Binford Road Trailhead on the west side of the Preserve in Novato. Parking is available alongside Binford Road. Binford Road is the road to the airport, coming off of the Atherton Exit on Hwy. 101.
Route: 101 Trail, Pinheiro Ridge Fire Road, Saddlewood Road, Pinheiro Fire Road, Rush Creek Fire Road, North Levee Trail, and Pinheiro Fire Road. We’ll walk about 4.0 miles in 1.5 hours with a quick 250 foot climb, ridge walk, and 250 foot descent during the 1st half of the hike; followed by a mostly flat 2nd half of the hike.
Gear: Bring water, sunscreen, sturdy footwear, and appropriate clothing.
