Outings Leader Training, OLT

Do you love the outdoors and are interested in becoming an Outings Leader with the Sierra Club? We're having an Outings Leader Training on Saturday, July 26th. Please email us at regsierraclub@gmail.com to learn more about the training or to sign up.
The course will include the modules below:

1 Commitments to Equity Goals
2 History and Structure
3 Planning Outings
4 Participant Evaluation
5 Conservation and Connections
6 Conducting an Outing
7 Ethical Leadership and Decision Making
8 Risk Management

The training does not cover “hard” skills like how to set up a tent or specifics on gear for a particular outdoor activity. The OLT will orient you to policies and procedures, best practices, our existing structure, and skills related to leading a group in an outdoor setting.
