Earth Day Activism Party! Legislation, Data Centers, and Environmental Impacts

Join the Green Country Group for our monthly meeting, and help us celebrate Earth Day! We'll have delicious snacks and drinks, as well as fun door prizes.

Our program will cover two important areas for education and activism. Guest presenter Ashley Nicole Leitka, from Honor the Earth and Stop Data Colonialism, will dive into the environmental impact of Data Centers proposed for Green Country. As well, Gary Allison, from our Legislative Action Committee, will discuss the environmental legislation moving through the Oklahoma House and Senate this year.

Ashley Nicole Leitka comes from the Absentee Shawnee Tribe of Oklahoma and the Oglala & Sicangu Lakota nations. She is the Director of the Department of Sovereignty & Self-Determination at Honor the Earth. She is also a member of Stop Data Colonialism, a national coalition of Indigenous peoples fighting the buildout of AI infrastructure across Turtle Island.

Gary Allison serves on the legislative committees of the Oklahoma Sierra Club Chapter and the Conservation Coalition of Oklahoma. Gary is also Chair of the All Souls Unitarian Church's Green Team. He is a Professor Emeritus of the University of Tulsa College of Law..
