This month's film is Inhabitants: Indigenous Perspectives On Restoring Our World, 2020, 76 minutes.

Location: Margaret and Bill Benjamin Auditorium, first floor.

Join in a viewing of this film, which follows five Native American Tribes across deserts, coastlines, forests, and prairies as they restore their traditional land management practices. For millennia Native Americans successfully stewarded and shaped their landscapes, but centuries of colonization have disrupted their ability to maintain their traditional life ways. As the climate crisis escalates these time-tested practices of North America’s original inhabitants are becoming increasingly essential in a rapidly changing world.

This screening will be followed by a discussion panel hosted by Dr. Meredith C. F. Powers, associate professor in the Department of Social Work at UNCG, with members of the Guilford Native American Association and UNCG’s Native American Student Association. All are welcome to be part of the conversation.
