“Green” Biomass Industry Debunked

Justin Catanoso, Wake Forest University Professor of Journalism and regular contributor to Mongabay, an international environmental news organization, covers climate change and climate policy for Mongabay and reports from seven United Nations climate summits.

Justin has deep knowledge of the wood pellet industry, its source of biomass, its far-reaching effect on health and climate in North Carolina and across the globe, and its stated "carbon-neutral" position that misinforms the public and governments with devastating consequences.

He will share his investigative work and the truth it has revealed about the Enviva biomass industry in North Carolina when he speaks with the League of Women Voters of the Piedmont Triad at the upcoming Lunch with the League on February 21, 2023.

Catanoso has been covering this environmental story since 2018, a story of critical importance to North Carolina and a story largely unknown. You can learn more about his work from the links below.
